Présentation Maxime, chef de projet mécanique chez ET PACK

The role of the mechanical engineering department at ETPACK

The mechanical design office is essential to the successful creation of a high-performance packaging line for our customers, working in coordination with the automation and electrical design offices.

Complementary offices for your project

To design a high-performance packaging line, ETPACK has set up several complementary design offices with clearly defined scopes of work. The mechanical, electrical and automation design offices work together to design and deliver our customer's project as quickly as possible.

The sales department and the pre-project team send a full set of specifications to our mechanical engineering department. These specifications enable us to understand the customer's expectations and objectives.

On the basis of these specifications, the engineers in the mechanical design office will select each part or set of mechanical parts that will enable the machine to fulfil the function and objectives set by the customer, within the budget set by the customer.

The various stages carried out by our mechanical design office

Firstly, the mechanical design engineers will carry out a computer-aided design. The aim is to provide our customer with a 3D plan of the machine, detailing all the machine's features and components to ensure that the design office's proposal corresponds perfectly to the customer's needs.

Once the 3D drawing has been validated, our purchasing department will procure the parts and components needed to assemble the machine in our workshop. Once the machine has been assembled, our technicians and automation engineers carry out a debugging and fine-tuning, before sending it to the customer.

These same technicians and automation engineers then install and commission the machine on the customer's premises.

The role of the project manager in the mechanical engineering design office

To enable our engineers to be as efficient as possible, our mechanical design office also includes project managers. Their role within the team is to ensure that each stage of the project is completed on time and on budget, as agreed between the customer and the sales department when the machine is ordered.

The project manager will also be the customer's main contact from the moment he receives the specifications. He must understand all the subtleties of the project so that the machine proposed to the customer meets his expectations. The project manager is responsible for maintaining constant contact between the customer and the engineers, while ensuring that the project meets the deadlines and costs set when the order form is signed.

Maxime, project manager at ETPACK since June 2024, explains his experience and working methods in the video below.

An efficient and coherent organisation

At ETPACK, everything is done to guarantee customer satisfaction. Our human-sized teams enable regular, fluid exchanges on the progress of the project, as well as on improvements and modifications to be made.

The mechanical, automation and electrical design offices are located in a common area, which ensures that the work of one is in line with the work done by the others. The workshop, where the machines are assembled before delivery, is located right next door, which also makes it quick and easy to monitor the progress of the project.
