PACTISOUD is proud to highlight three of our professional team members: Jennifer, Hélène and Gaëlle. These women have succeeded in making their mark in a traditionally male-dominated sector.
All arriving between September 2021 and January 2022 respectively, these three women bring a fresh perspective to our workshop thanks to their diverse experience and skills.
Jennifer, 35, started a welding course in April 2021, specialising in pipework. Hélène, 33, began a new career by taking a nine-month training course in boilermaking in 2021, after a career in real estate. Gaëlle, who joined PACTISOUD in 2021, initially had a technical background before moving into workshop logistics.
Lhe manual work, the variety of tasks and the desire to work in a workshop are just some of the reasons that attracted them to this profession. "Versatility is the key to their work at PACTISOUD," explains Hélène. Jennifer and Hélène work on boiler making and welding, each with their own specialities, while Gaëlle receives parcels, allocates parts to the boilermakers and takes care of administration.
In their view, being a woman in this sector brings many advantages: finesse, perfectionism, calm, rigour and organisation. The autonomy and success of projects without outside help are sources of satisfaction for these three women.
We like PACTISOUD because of the equality between men and women", adds Jennifer, "the good relations between colleagues, the caring attitude and the fact that the workshop is equipped for them in terms of handling. They feel that diversity, and in particular the introduction of women into these professions, is becoming normal and is developing. However, this requires companies to adapt and equip themselves to welcome women.
They encourage all women interested in this field to dare to take the plunge. As Gaëlle says, "Just go for it, do what you want to do". What's more, the arrival of a female apprentice in September, with a general baccalaureate, demonstrates the sector's openness to diversity.
At PACTISOUD, we are proud to welcome and support these women. Their inspiring stories prove that diversity is not only necessary, but also enriching for everyone.
