The role of the design office at Pactisoud
The design office is the link between the workshop and the sales department. Its role is to turn the customer's project into a technically feasible solution in the workshop. If a customer expresses a specific request, the sales representative can refer to the design office to ensure that the project is technically feasible. During assembly, the workshop and the design office work in direct and constant collaboration to ensure that the final result meets expectations and the level of quality that symbolises Pactisoud.
Consulted in the early stages of the project, the design office will also establish the time required to assemble the machine, which it will communicate to the sales department and the workshop. Our aim is to provide our customers with a technical solution as quickly as possible.
The skills required to work in a design office
Because of the complexity of our projects, the design office is made up of people with a strong technical background. Thanks to their knowledge, they are able to translate the needs expressed by the customer into a real, functional machine.
Project management is also one of the skills required to work in a design office. To guarantee maximum satisfaction, it is important to anticipate the deadlines for each stage of the project (purchase of parts, assembly in the factory, etc.) in order to announce a credible delivery date to the customer.
Finally, the design office must be able to communicate effectively. Together with the sales department, the design office will take the time to understand all the contours of the project, before translating it from a technical point of view for the workshop and the purchasing department, with a view to designing the machine or system expected by the customer.
